Launched in India in 1992 the Zee Network now broadcasts to over 550 million consumers across 120 countries; programmes cover news, cinema, comedy, drama, soaps, music and education. In February 1995 Zee TV began transmitting to the U.K.'s extensive Asian community who appreciate a 'home from home' service being available to them in their adopted country. Six channels, Zee TV, Zee Music, Zee Cinema, Alpha Punjabi & Zee Gujarati are broadcast into the homes, offices and shops using satellite and cable technology and the appeal is to both the traditional Asian viewer and the younger Anglo-Asian generation. Zee TV magazine subscribers will receive both the Zee Lifestyle edition and Zee Property & Finance magazine in spring/summer 2008.
